HIGH PRESSURE PROCESSING MACHINES FOR THE FOOD INDUSTRY
IDUS HPP SYSTEMS is the brand name of the company Idus HPP Systems S.L.U. for its range of High Pressure Processing machines. It is an independent spanish company with a background of more than 20 years working in high pressure food machinery for cutting.
The company Metronics, origin of IDUS, has installed more than 700 waterjet cutting systems for food in 50 countries of the five continents. The biggest waterjet installation worldwide has been conceived, constructed and installed by the same engineers that have developed the high-pressure vessels included in our High Pressure Processing machines. It has 1.25 MW of power and works with 372 nozzles at 3000 bar. Pumping is a well-known technology for them.
High pressure is not something new for us. Anyway, pushing the limit to 6000 bar has meant 8 years of development. Finally, a first 50-liter vessel passed the final pressure test on the 22nd of December 2017. In 2021, a 10-liter machine, a 50-liter machine, and a 300-liter machine have already been commissioned. Two more 300-liter and 25-liter units have been constructed since then.
A first 50-liter machine was installed in a supplier of an important supermarket chain. You can see a preliminary video here:

Metronics Technologies entered into the high pressure food business in central Europe in 2007. Since then, mostly pastry artisans and manufacturers have been supplied with waterjet cutting machines to step up their business. Today, it’s the high pressure pasteurization HPP that comes to go side by side with our range of waterjet machines “Watercut”. This HPP activity has taken its own path in the company IDUS HPP SYSTEMS. We get into an arena where Hiperbaric, Avure and Uhde have been alone for years, arriving lately Quintus to the team. IDUS brings a breath of fresh air to this HPP market, with sensible cost-oriented designs and the same manufacturing costs as the best.
An economical small 10 liter machine is the smallest machine to help Universities and Food Development Centers conceive new products. This machine mimicks the big machines, just 600 MPa at room temperature and similar ramp-up times. Then a 25-liter, 50-liter machine or a 300-liter HPP machine will do the real production. Biggest sizes will come for sure.
